The Beresford Arms is one of Tim's favorite hotels in San Francisco. It is located several blocks from Union Square and even though it is an uphill walk from Market it is still reasonably close to the Powell Street BART. The advantage to this location is that it is quieter than hotels closer to Union Square or Market. There is a very good Tai restaurant in the next block (across Jones on the same side of the street). The rates are very reasonable and it does tend to fill up so book as early as you can. The Beresford Hotel (635 Sutter Street) is a sister property a little closer to Union Square and a little more expensive.
